He is also the only sire in the world in the top 20 of the CSO and Eventing rankings, with also some international winners in Dressage. Contendro I’s sire, the legendary Contender, is one of the world’s leading jumping sires. His notable offspring include the likes of Montender (Marco Kucher), individual European gold medalist 2005; Checkmate (Meredith Michaels Beerbaum), team gold WEG Kentucky 2010; and Carlo (Nick Skelton), individual European bronze medalist 2010. He can also be found in the pedigrees of the top stallions Chellano Z and Balou du Rouet. Contendro’s first dam, Bravo, is also the dam of the licensed stallions, Caretano Z (by Caretino), 1997 Reserve Bundeschampion, 1999 World Champion of 7-year old show jumpers, and a World Cup Finalist in Gothenburg, Sweden, and of Contendro I’s full brothers Contendro II and Cassito (by Cassiano).
